Val Orssaud

Valentin Orssaud is an Energy Systems Engineer specializing in the development of photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems. His technical foundation includes extensive experience with full-site feasibility assessments, evaluating structural and electrical conditions, conducting shading studies, and utilizing drone-based 3D modeling for accurate system layouts. He is highly proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVCAD, Aurora, Open Solar, Scanifly, and PVSYST and applies these tools to optimize performance, ensure code compliance, and produce detailed documentation, including one-line diagrams, module layouts, system maps, and advanced microgrid designs.

Val has held roles at several key companies, including SolaX Power, Sunnova Energy, and Exact Solar. His project leadership spans the entire lifecycle, from initial feasibility and preliminary design through detailed engineering, equipment optimization, and preparation of application-ready design packages. He is also adept at managing coordination tasks such as interconnection submissions, permitting support, and collaborating with contractors to guide projects through construction and final commissioning.

With a Bachelor of Science in Energy Systems Engineering from Oregon State University, Val brings a blend of analytical depth and practical field experience. With his comprehensive background in development, maintenance, feasibility, and project engineering, Val is able to support OurEnergy’s complex renewable energy and electrification projects from conception through long-term operation.
