Emily Podshadley
Emily’s passion for environmental sustainability took shape nearly seven years ago while working in advertising and marketing in New York City. What began as a fast-paced career in marketing quickly evolved into a deeper calling: to do mission-driven work and help organizations create meaningful, positive impact by addressing their environmental and social impacts and committing to responsible business practices.
Motivated by her purpose, Emily returned to California during the pandemic to pursue an MBA in sustainable solutions. Her studies exposed her to a wide range of industries and sustainability disciplines, including corporate sustainability and ESG reporting, clean energy, and carbon management. Following her degree, Emily joined S&P Global’s sustainability team, where she led projects supporting the development of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) methodology and contributed to data-driven research and insights on social topics, including human capital management and labor practices.
A lifelong learner, Emily actively seeks opportunities to deepen her impact. She is currently a volunteer with Change Climate Project, helping companies track carbon emissions, commit to carbon reduction initiatives and targets, and achieve Climate Label certification. She also regularly volunteers at Common Roots Farm in Santa Cruz, where she combines her love of gardening and the outdoors with supporting individuals with disabilities.
Emily’s passion for preserving the environment is deeply rooted in everything she does. She’s excited to apply her broad skill set to help OurEnergy advance its mission and contribute to a more sustainable world.
